When Laura takes the kids to lunch at Diver's cafe by the beach, she's amazed that he can't make a ham and cheese sandwich. He leaves it up to the kids to make their own lunches while he heads out for some fishing.
When the family sits down to dinner at the Tropical Star, they're expecting basic fare such as fish and chips. When a gourmet meal is placed in front of them, Laura is stunned to learn that Diver prepared it. She can't believe that man who can make such a culinary masterpiece can't make a sandwich.
Trevor Findley informs Laura's kids, Rupert and Miranda, that the reason Diver can't make a sandwich is because his ex-wife used to do it, and she left him.

Jim Alexander (Defendent #2) was in Three Dollars, playing Eddie's Father.
Grant Piro had a recurring role in the series as Bryce Reardon. The other episodes he appeared in were: The Fellowship of the Suit and Stormy Weather.
Jazmin Westrup also played Bob's secretary in the first episode.
